Made from Bamboo fibers, Tomoe River paper is originally designed for the printing of full-color catalogs to be mailed in Japan. In order to save on the postage cost, the papers were designed to be as light as possible but have the best reproduction of color. As a result of this design goal, Tome River paper is the world standard for fountain pen ink color reproduction. It's a downside however is that the drying time is much longer than most papers as the ink will seat on the paper while it dries. This is why any effects of the fountain pen ink color will be rendered so vividly on page.

Straits Pen is the non-exclusive distributor and worldwide marketing partner for Sakae Technical Paper which produces the officially branded Tomoe River products using the Tomoe River FP grade of Tomoe River paper. We don't carry other brands as they purchase the industrial sheets to be made into their own products. (Wholesale starts at 10 items per SKU) Currntly we don't hold any stocks of Tomoe River Paper.
